Revisting Kulinaria
January 26, 2008
For starters we tried the Mediterranean, a throw back to their signature appetizer. Very tender and delicately spiced lamb lightly sauced in a garlicky concoction with black olives, bell peppers, eggplant pieces and mozzarella all encased in tortilla and sliced into 8 bite-sized pieces. Very tasty and made a good beginning to what promised to be another memorable meal.
Their pizza base was a delicious flatbread and as usual we had them remove the cheese from half of the pizza. It wasn’t difficult to decide on the flavor and it was Italian sausage, fresh basil, feta, and mozzarella for us. The feta was very good, creamy and with just the right bite of salt. Maybe it’s because of my partiality to Margherita pizzas, but it’s hard to beat the classic basil-cheese and tomato sauce combination.
We also tried their scallopine and to round everything out a roast chicken sandwich. No dessert for us.
It was a good meal and although it did not do justice to the Kulinaria of old at least we were not disappointed with the presentation and quality of the food. It is still money well spent.
